What Are Your Intentions?

The Lord has really been impressing upon me lately that my intentions need to be in the right place.

He has also been teaching me to praise him regardless of the circumstances around me.

As I have meditated on these two things, I have come to realize how much they are related. They both bring glory to God, and the both demonstrate that He is first in my life.

I believe, now more than ever, that God’s intention for my family is to have nothing but the best. He wants us to be in good health. He wants us to have good finances, and he wants us to enjoy the best that life has to offer.

I know why he wants these things for me. It is the same reason why I want my children to live a good life. No one wants to see their children struggle, but what I am starting to understand is that it is much more than just living a good life.

God has recently taught me that it is not possible to fully walk in His will if I am concerned with the things of this Earth.

Do you think that Pastor Keith Moore worries about how his bills are going to get paid? Do you think Pastor Kenneth Hagan worried about his health or what the people around him were up to?

Not only are the concerns of the world a hindrance to a person’s spiritual walk, but a person cannot tangible full-fill their call. If a person were to be called to be an oversees missionary, how would they be able to do so if they were struggling with their health or their finances. God wants us to be free from those worries so that when He calls us for the Kingdom we don’t have to worry about worldly affairs. Without hesitation, we are able to believe God and act.

Everyone desires good health, financial freedom, and a worry free life, but why should we desire those things?

According to the Bible, we should desire the will of God.

The will of God is also for us to have good health, financial freedom, and a worry free life so that we can be ready to act when called.

I used to want good health because I did not want to go to the doctor, and I don’t like not feeling good. I used to want financial freedom because I wanted to be able to purchase what I want when I want and go where I want when I want.

My prayer has now changed from obtaining these worldly things to: number one; believing and thanking God for them, and number two; asking God to change my heart so that the reason I desire these things is so I may praise Him, honor Him, and give Him all the glory.

I can be living what seems to be the greatest life there is, but if I am not honoring God, it is pointless. There is one thing that I know for sure. The reasons that I use to have did not bring me a blessing that I cannot contain, and until I have received a blessing that I cannot contain, I am falling short of where I need to be. And until I receive a blessing I cannot contain, I cannot be the blessing to others that God wants me to be.

God Will Save His People

Olivia Meadows is 11 years old and when I (Christena) asked her if she would like to write something for our church blog, she was a little hesitant but agreed. I told her she could take up to 4 weeks, just wait and listen to the Lord.

I am so proud of her, she came to me this past Sunday with what the Lord had spoken to her. And I want to share it now.

"God will save His people from the wicked devil.

God will bless His people.

So I say right now, repent for the kingdom of heaven is near."

You Are Given Everything You Need To Live

One of my favorite verses (and I have many) J is Isaiah 54:17.

Is says in the KJV, “No weapon formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”

The AMP version states, “But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This (peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition) is the heritage of the servant of the Lord (those in whom the Servant of the Lord is reproduced); this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me (this is that which I impart to them as their justification), says the Lord."

We live in a fallen world. That means that even though God had originally intended it to be for mankind to dominate and rule, it was given over to satan when man fell in the garden. As a result, unless you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are subject to satan’s rule here on the earth.

As a believer in Christ you are given everything you need to live and overcome in this fallen world. Everything satan has to offer is through deception, but Jesus beat deception and showed us how to do the same. That excites me!!

So what are weapons that are formed against us? Sickness and disease, unforgiveness, depression, debt, strife, lust, pride, etc. are all weapons satan uses to bring you down and cause you to draw away from God.

The tongues that rise up against you are those that say things like…you will never get out of this situation, you only have 3 months to live, certain things in the Word of God don’t apply today, you are worthless, you are never going to amount to anything, etc.

But, you know what? If you read that verse carefully it says those weapons will not prosper and you will prove those wrong who speak against you!

Isn’t that Good News??

I will go on to say that there is a choice that you have to make - to believe God and His Word and to trust Him in every situation. If you give in to these weapons and tongues that rise up against you, then you are ALLOWING satan to have reign in your life rather than God. And trust me it does not go well with you when you do that.

I want to encourage you that the SECOND something comes against you, let’s just say a cold for instance, you recognize that it is not from God and you use the Word against it, just as Jesus did when He was tempted of the devil. I actually use this verse and say: “No weapon of sickness formed against me shall prosper because I am a saint of God and am under His covenant of healing, for that is my heritage!” Guess what? It leaves immediately!! Praise the Lord!

Find the promises of God and write them down, study them and hide them away in your heart so that when the storms of life and the affairs of this world come against you, you will have a foundation to stand upon and to fight with.

No One In The World Is Good

No one in the world is good.

Making such a statement does not imply that one is bitter or jaded. It simply means that the only good thing that exists does not dwell in this physical world but rather in the spirit world.

He is a spirit, and his name is God.

He is an omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent being that can be challenged by none other. He is a loving God that has no limitations. In fact, God's goodness is more than t

he mind can understand and is only limited by one's capacity to receive.

God is not a Greek mythical creature that is out-dated and out-of-touch. He loves everyone very much and calls everyone his friend and heir.

God wants to bless everyone in all aspects of a life, just as He has so powerfully blessed my family.

My father has always been a very healthy individual who never had a need for a doctor. However, when he began to experience symptoms of immense bleeding, he took one of his first trips to the emergency room. The doctors diagnosed him with an incurable, fatal disease. Its name was terminal colon cancer. My family went to war not with the vicious illness that has taken an innumerable number of lives; but rather, we fought Satan.

Ephesians 6:12 states, "For we wrestle not against flesh an

d blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

We did precisely this. However, we did not fight alone. We had the most powerful spiritual warfare weapon that a Christian has at his disposal-God's goodness. God was good throughout the entire experience. When my father was diagnosed, God was good. We all had more peace in our lives than ever before. When my father underwent chemotherapy treatment, he did not experience one negative side-affect that so often plagues this form of treatment. When my father was healed, God was good. He healed my father of that wicked illness, leaving the medical staff at the hospital befuddled. We grew spiritually to a point that we h

ad not previously been.

What Satan meant for bad, God made good.

God provides mental growth and restoration for everyone that receives it.

In 2 Timothy 1:7, the Bible informs, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

So many people live miserable lives filled with fear and depression. When this verse uses the word "us", it is referring simply to those that are believers in God.

Bipolar disease, schizophrenia, and depression are not in the vocabulary of Christians unless it involves a testimony. We are freed from such entrapments by the goodness of God. People are also gifted with supreme cognitive abilities if they simply believe in God's promise.

This verse also entirely extinguishes fear of anything, anything at all. This includes but is never limited to the fear of heights, dark, rejection, failure, or anything that is not in God's kingdom.

Most of all, God loves you.

This is the single best thing that could ever be done for humanity. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for everyone's sins.

Now, if one accepts Jesus into his heart, that person may enjoy all the benefits of God's kingdom.

Trade your carnal life for eternal life and the citizenship of the kingdom of pain and darkness for the Kingdom of life and love.

This is a simple decision that Romans 10:9-10 explains very clearly by stating, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

God loves you and wants you to be part of His kingdom.

Fruit Your Deeds Actions Are They Rotten or Good?

Fruit – what is it?

Are you thinking apple, orange, blueberries or watermelon? Those are yummy but when God speaks of fruit in John 15:2 and Matthew 12:33, this is not the ‘fruit’ He is talking about.

He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

John 15:2

The fruit He is talking about is a deed, action, result, or profit.

In the Strong’s it’s #2590 - everything done in true partnership with Christ, i.e. a believer (a branch) lives in union with Christ (the Vine). By definition, fruit (2590 /karpós) results from two life-streams – the Lord living His life through ours – to yield what is eternal

So our ‘fruit’ will be what we are doing, how we are speaking, how we are treating people; what our actions are, are we lazy, do we keep our word when we say we will do something? What is the result of our actions? Do we profit, does the Kingdom of God profit?

It says He prunes the branches that bear fruit.

Prune in the Strong’s #2508 - make clean by purging (removing undesirable elements); hence, "pruned (purged)"; eliminating what is fruitless by purifying.

I’m not sure about you but when I’m getting ‘pruned’ sometimes I let out a yelp! There are times I know I need to let go of a relationship because it draws me away from God or I need to stop watching a certain program because it causes wrong emotions to rise up in me and that affects the relationships in my home.

Sometimes He prunes me because I’m speaking negative things to myself and believing the lies rather than the truth of who God says I am and the power I have to change because ‘the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me’. WOW I want to understand that more. I ask for wisdom on this one verse Lord. That’s power!

The ‘more fruitful’ is awesome too, it is greater, of higher value.

So as I (we) are pruned, we repent and let go of the bad fruit and begin to see increase. This increase can come in the form of better relationships, finances, health, peace and faith.

When God begins to prune the bad fruit of laziness and over eating, it doesn’t feel comfortable at first and it does take some work to move forward. But as you begin to give it over to God, rely on Him knowing you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and then you begin to see the positive results – you begin to desire those pruning’s! You can even see an increase in your finances because you are not eating out as much or buying all those cookies and cakes you thought you couldn’t live without.

Then in Matthew 12:33 I looked up ‘good’

"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

Good - Definition: beautiful, as an outward sign of the inward good, noble, honorable character; good, worthy, honorable, noble, and seen to be so.

In Strong’s - 2570 – attractively good; good that inspires (motivates) others to embrace what is lovely (beautiful, praiseworthy); i.e. well done so as to be winsome (appealing).

Don’t you want to be ‘good’, one that inspires, one that embraces what is lovely and praiseworthy? Don’t you want a person to know you as one that has honorable character? I sure do.

Now when I looked up ‘bad’ --

Definition: rotten, useless, corrupt, depraved.

In Strong’s - 4550 – properly, rotten (putrid), over-ripe; (figuratively) over-done (ripened); hence, corrupt. --, expresses what is of poor quality, unfit for use, putrid"– "of poor or bad quality"

Do you (do I) express what is of poor quality?

I looked up ‘poor quality’ in the dictionary (The Free Dictionary on-line) and it said - Not adequate in quality; inferior Lacking in value; insufficient.

I know if this is where I am at it's because I’ve started believing/living a lie. God tells me in His word that I have value, I am not useless! Satan wants me to have this ‘bad’ fruit so I’m too ‘self-centered’ to be ‘others-centered’. The evil one knows if he can keep me in the poor me or even in the pride arena, I will have rotten fruit because I’m stuck in the ‘me, me, me, it’s all about me’ syndrome. Anything I do will not be in excellence, it will begin to stink because it doesn’t inspire anyone. Living the way God tells me (us) to live is the good fruit, fruit that inspires and motivates and blesses!

Now on to ‘is known’ (is recognized).

Definition: I am taking in knowledge, come to know, realized.

1097 ginṓskō – properly, to know, especially through personal experience (first-hand acquaintance).

You will be known by your fruit, there is no way around it. As people begin to know you, especially outside the Sunday sermon, will they be intrigued by your good fruit or repulsed by the rotten, bad fruit?

Remember your fruit will show through in the way you treat your spouse, your children, people you work with, the way you handle a frustrating cashier, etc. Are you the loudest AMEN on Sunday and then Sunday night or Monday morning you are belittling and controlling your spouse? Or maybe talking about someone because they are not on the same faith level you are? Do you gossip or whine? I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. I know I do and just in writing this I have had a conviction and have repented – ouch got pruned again, but thank You Lord because I know the good that will come from it. Good in my life and in the life of others, because You are Light in me for all to see!

If any of this has spoken to you and you need to repent and turn away from the bad fruit – do it now. So with eyes opened or closed, you’re your hand folded or lifted up to the Lord; however you are called to do it – cry out to God now, tell Him you know you have fallen short in this area and you are sorry. Ask Him to forgive you, He will. Then ask Him to give you the strength to change whatever it is, as you read His word He may give you Scriptures He wants you to dwell on so they become alive in you and give you what you need to change your bad fruit to a good fruit.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Holy Ghost Junior? Me?

Have you ever tried to play Holy Ghost junior? You may not have even realized it.

That happened to me today and the Lord opened my eyes to it. I thought "Wow!" and that famous Steve Eurkle line popped into my head, "Did I do that??"

Sometimes we see things in people that we think needs changing (and it may) and it may irk us because we see it more clearly than they do. We may get irritated because we think they should see it the way we do and Right Now! So we start coming up with ways to help them along. We say things hoping they will take the cue and get a clue. When that doesn't work, we try something different.

Have you ever noticed that when we do that...it makes them defensive and angry?

Here is what the Lord spoke to me about this..."It's not your place, so it's not going to work". OUCH!!! I had to repent.

See, we think we know better than God on how to deal with people and situations. Do you know why? Because we neglect to seek His face on the situation before we open our mouths and tell the other person to do this or that or go here or there.

That is why they cannot receive it from us and it causes strife or bad decisions.

You have not spoken under the anointing or grace that only God can lead you by.

If you see that you have operated in your flesh in what you have told people, whether it is your husband, your children, your friends or whomever, then be quick to repent and take it to the Lord and if He says to do nothing...do nothing! He may have someone else He has been trying to use and you have just been getting in the way.

I praise God that He pointed this out to me!! Now you make a decision to receive correction and rejoice!!

He has just taken you higher!! Nehemiah 8:8-10

Relationship Crisis Not Identity Crisis

I was asking the Lord about what you said about some people looking to me. Here is what the Lord showed me. The people that look to me (or anyone else) is because it is a relationship crisis not a identity crisis, not an I can't do it because I am not good enough crisis or she/he can do it because they are more spiritual.

The relationship crisis is the main reason people look to other people. The Bible says that Moses was the meekest man upon the whole earth. (Num. 12:3). You can teach people about who they are in Christ, which is good, however, if they fail to establish their hearts by spending time with the Lord they are toast. Look at the Old Testament example. How many people actually entered the rest (promised land) of the original group that came out of Egypt? Only two people Joshua and Caleb. Not very good stats. I agree with not drawing attention to one's self. I will make sure that God gets all the glory and I not draw attention to myself.

People that don't have a relationship with God. (They don't labor to enter into that rest) will ALWAYS look to me or someone else who they think is spiritual and can get answers from. Those people in the Old Testament wanted Moses to speak to them instead of God because they were lazy and fearful. (Not spending time with God births unbelief)

Heb. 4:11 says that we are to labour to enter into that rest. (Spend Time with God) otherwise you can fall after that same example of unbelief. Here is a relationship issue, not an identity issue. They looked to Moses or they will look to the Pastor or whomever they perceive as spiritual. I believe a Pastor can minimize how a person perceives him, by letting others minister and having a time to give glory to God. However, when 16 percent of professing believers actually read their Bible on a consistent basis, there is a real problem.

The MAIN way will be to encourage people to fellowship with the Father and Son. (1John 1:3). If everyone would do that they could all enter into the rest without looking to someone else and not fall after the same example of unbelief.

I have been watching intently the current events that are shaping our world. Just today I was reading a quote by Franklin Graham. He said that “Christians Will Lose the Power to Pray Outside Church Walls ‘Maybe in My Lifetime’. Franklin Graham recently was told he could not speak at the Pentagon for the National Day of Prayer because of remarks he made about Islam. There is an open hostility and an assault on Christian values brewing in our nation. Jesus spoke of persecutions that would take place before He would return. He also said He would give us a mouth and wisdom in which we would use to respond to our persecutors. God always give us what we need.

Luk 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Luk 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Luk 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

Luk 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

The greatest need for our nation and our churches is a spiritual awakening to God. One of the four things that God laid on my heart in 2009 was the “Outpouring of the Holy Spirit”. Without Christians standing up and praying for this great outpouring of God’s Spirit we as a nation and a church will be greatly diminished. The Bible speaks of a great spiritual awakening in the book of Joel. God desires to give HIS church what it needs in these last days. An outpouring of His Spirit.

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joe 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Now is the time to pray, now is the time to seek God with all our heart. You may be asking, “How do you know that?” (Remember one of the things that we were supposed to be praying about was insight of the seasons or being able to discern the time in which we live.) The Bible speaks about the nations in Joel Chapter 3.

Joe 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

Joe 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Notice in verse two it says “ALL NATIONS”. All Nations were involved in parting the land. In verse one it talks about the captivity of Judah (West Bank) and Jerusalem. This is the topic of discussion among the nations as I write this letter. The nations are discussing these two areas of land that God gave to Abraham and his descendants. Our nation was one of the last countries in the world to stand with Israel. The U.S. is increasingly distancing itself away from Israel to appease radical Islam. While we witness a growing hostility toward Israel, we will witness a growing hostility toward believers. But God, always will meet our need. As we witness these events unfolding we will experience one of the greatest spiritual awakenings this world has ever seen. The event coinciding with the nations forming their alliance against Israel will be the great outpouring of God’s Spirit. This is the time to seek God with all your heart. It is a time to rejoice because our redemption draws near.

A Prayer For My Marriage

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I come boldly to Your throne of grace to find help and mercy in this time of need. I come with Your Word, Father, concerning my marriage.

The Bible says in 1 John 5:14-15, This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.

I know Father, that it is Your will for my marriage to be healed. I know that Your will is for my mate and I to be in agreement, to be at peace, and to have a beautiful relationship.

Therefore, I have confidence that You will heal my marriage. I thank You, Father, that You were a witness on our wedding day when we made our marriage vows. I confess that my mate and I will guard ourselves in our spirits so that we will not break faith with one another. (see Malachi 2:14-15).

I praise You, Father, that my mate and I are no longer two, but we are one flesh. You have joined us together. And what God has joined together, no man will separate (see Mark 10:7,9). I know that Satan has come to destroy my marriage. But I also know that Jesus came to bring life to my marriage (see John 10:10.)

I thank You, Father, that You have given me power over all the power of the enemy (see Luke 10:19). I know that my mate is not my enemy. My fight is against the principalities and powers of darkness (see Ephesians 6:10-12).

In the Name of Jesus, I resist the devil and he must flee from me and my mate (see James 4:7). I take authority over the spirit of confusion, strife, adultery, and divorce and all the powers of darkness that have come to destroy my marriage. In the Name of Jesus, we are free from the power of the devil.

Father, I pray that You will show me the changes that I need to make. I pray as David prayed, I desire truth in my inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart (see Psalm 51:6). I desire to know the truth because the truth will set me free. Help me, Father, to walk in love toward my mate.

Know I know, Father, that You are not willing that my mate perish, but that he/she will come to repentance (see 2 Peter 3:9). I pray that You will enlighten the eyes of my mate's understanding in order that they may know the hope to which You have called him/her.

I thank You, Father, that my mate will turn to You and we will serve You all the days of our lives. I thank You, Father, that my mate and I cling to one another and we love each other as Christ loves the church (see Ephesians 5:22-32).

I pray that we will get rid of all bitterness and anger and that we will be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as Christ forgave us (see Ephesians 4:31-32).

I know, Father, that You have a specific plan and purpose for me and my mate together. And I thank You for perfecting that which concerns me (see Psalm 138:8). Amen.

She always speaks well of me and believes the best of me. She always hopes and perseveres because You, Lord, are her primary focus.

Father, because we love You first and foremost and are submitted to You as the Head of the Church, we are committed and submitted to one another, daily maturing in the oneness You meant to exist in our relationship.

Who I Am In Christ Bible Study Indianapolis

Mighty Women of God!

Our study for this semester will begin in 2 weeks on Thursday, Jan 21@ 7pm. We will continue to lay a solid biblical foundation by utilizing a devotional written by Neil T. Anderson titled “Who I Am In Christ”.

You may purchase this book through your local Christian book store or www.ficm.org (Freedom In Christ Ministries) for $14.99. I also located used books thru Amazon for $6.00+tax. Although owning a book for the study is not necessary, I highly recommend it in order to benefit the fullness from the study. It is an excellent book!

Here is a deeper understanding of what we will gain from this study of God’s Word:

Have you ever been tempted to doubt God’s love for you? Do you spend much of your life trying to earn God’s favor? Do you struggle with feelings of rejection or the approval of others?

The most important belief we posses is true knowledge of who God is and we are as His children. We will always consistently behave in a way that is consistent with how we perceive ourselves, whether this perception is based off of deceptions formed by our previous pain and heartache or the Word of God. It is not what we do that determines who we are. It is who we are that determines what we do.

Henry Ford put it this way…“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Your thoughts about yourself, good or bad, will determine your life.

Gods Word clearly speaks this Truth in Proverbs 23:7. “For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” If we do not have a revelation of our identity, acceptance, security, and significance in Christ we will never be able to live that free, abundant, overflowing life, filled with joy and purpose destined by God!

Ladies, it is time to rise up, discover our position through revelation of His Word, and take our position in Christ! Lets thrive, not just survive!

Peace That Passes Understanding

Are you tired of letting the devil get you all stirred up? Do you easily get thrown into a panic or tizzy? When something seems to go wrong in your day, does a multitude of one thing after the next go wrong? Are you often losing things and spending needed time to locate it? Does something someone says or does throw you into a tizzy and you respond with words or actions you later regret?

If any of the above questions sound familiar there is hope! There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing worth losing your peace over!

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:7

Facts about Peace:

God gave us a supernatural peace, unlike the worldly peace offered to us. Peace came to earth on the very first Christmas in Luke 2:8-14. True peace was given and like all spiritual blessings, we must renew our mind to His Word about his peace.

It transcends, outdoes, surpasses, excels, rises above, and goes beyond and over the top of any other kind of peace.

Peace begins with trusting God and believing that His Word is true. By choosing to stay in peace we are expressing our faith in God.

Isaiah 26:3 “You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You.”

The Hebrew word for peace in this scripture means “completion, safety, soundness, favor, healing, wholeness, prosperity, quietness, rest.” It is supernatural and is released only by a choice to believe in God.

Benefits of Perfect Peace

Peace is like a spiritual compass. It will give us a true north in all situations. If we keep this peace by disciplining ourselves not to lose it, then we will hear His voice successfully and walk in prosperity in not only the good times, but also the rough times. God will reveal answers and wisdom to us from the spiritual realm that we would never have known in the natural realm.

The mind which is the control center for the human being, determines the condition of a person’s life. From Isaiah 26:3 we see that this peace keeps our hearts and minds. The Greek word for “keep” is a military term expressing an idea of a soldier who stood faithfully at their post of the city gate to guard and control all who went in and out of the city. They were a gate monitor. No one entered or exited the city without their approval.

Therefore this peace, if allowed to work in our lives, will stand at the gates of our hearts and minds monitoring everything trying to enter our hearts, minds and emotions. When God’s peace is ruling us, nothing can get past that divine “guard” and slip into our hearts and minds without approval! It disables the devil’s ability to disturb us by preventing his attacks to slip into our minds.

Perfect peace protects, guards, keeps, and defends.

Facts About Fear:

The opposite of true peace is fear. Jesus always addressed fear in man, because He knew it would prevent man from tapping into the Divine supernatural realm. Mark 4:36-40 and Luke 8:41.

When we are in fear we cannot hear God speak to us. In the spiritual realm, fear literally opens the door, or attracts, negative things to come on us. The very thing we fear will come upon us. Proverbs 10:24 “The thing a wicked man fears will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.”

We must recognize when fear is in operation against us. We need to realize what initiates fear and how it effects us.

Feelings, thoughts, physical manifestations, or words of fear are:

“I feel anxious, stressed, in a tizzy, uptight, and upset. I have so much to do. How am I going to get it all done?”
You find yourself yelling at the kids and your husband. Even getting short and impatient with the people at the store. Wanting to just run away. Can’t wait until Christmas is over and things are back to normal.

You have a headache, making poor food choices for convenience, restless sleep, sweaty palms, adrenaline rush, or just freeze up.

Plan of Action:

We can refuse to allow the devil to access us, throw us in a panic and anxiety, or push any button inside us any longer!

Practice P.E.A.C.E.

Pause. Take a step back. Breathe.

Ear to the Lord. Be still before the Lord. Abide in Him.

Ask the Lord what to do.

Carry out His plan of action. Walk in obedience.

Exalt Him for His faithfulness in keeping your heart and mind in perfect peace.

Confession:

I confess that I am guarded and protected by the powerful peace of God that works in my life. It rises up and dominates my mind; it controls my thinking; and it determines the condition of my life and the environment where I live and work. I am unaffected by the circumstances that surround me, for this supernatural peace stands at the gate of my mind and emotions to monitor everything that tries to access me. Because no fretting, anxiety, panic, or worry is allowed to enter me. I remain free, calm, and peaceful, even in difficult situations that in the past would have upset me!

The Importance of Your Confession

The Importance of Your Confession

If we are to make our faith effective (active, powerful) and enjoy the full benefits of salvation, we must learn to do what it says in Philemon 1:6

“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”

God’s Word says that when we do this our faith becomes effective. You must acknowledge every good thing which you posses after making Jesus Lord of your life. Acknowledgement involves making a confession.

Our confession is mentioned three times in the book of Hebrews.

(Hebrews 3:1, Hebrews 4:14, and Hebrews 10:21-23)

Our confession is mentioned elsewhere in God’s Word. I am taking the text of Hebrews as a point of study.

Our tongue connects us to the ministry of Jesus as our High Priest. Jesus entered into a ministry as our high priest, representing us in the presence of His Father after he died, rose again, and ascended into heaven. He is our high priest on the condition that we make the right confession with our tongue.

Hebrews 3:1 “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;”

Notice what the Bible says here: “Jesus is the High Priest of our profession”. The word profession is translated in the Greek as confession or “to say the same things as.”

Jesus ministry as High Priest operates on our spoken confession not on our unspoken faith. It is important that we maintain a right confession with our mouth. When we agree with God’s Word in faith with our mouth it enables Jesus to exercise his ministry as High Priest on our behalf. His priesthood cannot operate on our behalf if there is no confession that agrees with His Word.

Wrong confession frustrates His ministry. The Bible tells us that we will give an account of every idle word that we speak.

Matthew 12:36 “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment”

Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

What are idle words? The word idle means “worthless”. Speaking words that are not in agreement with God’s Word. Idle words involve saying things that would contradict or exalt itself above God’s Word. Jesus cannot act on your behalf when you speak idle words.

Our confession linking us to the priesthood of Jesus is brought out two more times in Hebrews.

Hebrews 4:14 “Seeding then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”

Hebrews 10:21 “And having a high priest over the house of God;”

Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

The right confession is essential for Jesus to operate as our High Priest. Faith is not exercised with idle words. Wrong confession…Jesus cannot operate as your High Priest.

Right confession is essential for salvation. There is a direct link with our heart and mouth. (Luke 6:45) Salvation depends on two things: Exercising faith in our hearts and making the right confession.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The word “salvation” in the Bible means more than just having eternal life. It means completeness in all areas of life. When you start making the right confession that agrees with God’s Word you can start moving into the full provision of salvation.

Look at the illustration of the tongue in James.

James 3:4 “Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.”

James 3:5 “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!”

What the rudder is to the ship, the use of the tongue will determine which direction you go. Examine your path. Are you experiencing good things or bad things? Use God’s word to determine if you are living the life Jesus promised in John 10:10.

Here is a simple prayer that you can pray to help with what you say.

Psalm 19:34 “Let the words of my mouth, and the mediation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”

Our Covenant with God Week 3

I. Brief Overview of Previous Week

Ephesians 2:11-13 No power in this world
John 6:53 Eat my flesh and drink my blood or you have no part in me ---Jesus

II. Man’s Redemption Through Blood Covenant – Abram

What happened between Genesis 3 and Genesis 12? (Linear Time)
Adam and Eve had many children. Cain and Abel killed (Genesis 4:10) – Blood speaks
Many descendants living almost to 1,000 years old. Noah – flood – tower of Babel
God’s creation had turned upside down as a result of sin.
God called Abram in Genesis 12:1 and gave him a glimpse into covenant, He made a promise to Him. From Ur, headquarters for “a god called sin” a moon diety. Its emblem was a crescent moon. Abraham was familiar with this deity. God told him to leave everyone behind cause He didn’t want him to be surrounded or influenced by idolatry. (old Jewish tradition from document not translated into English - story of god that was crushed in father’s market – Abraham you must think I am a fool, this god cannot hear, speak or talk neither can his hands move. Then my father why are you worshipping you this god.)
Genesis 13 & 14, Abraham is getting to know God. For so long, He had been forgotten. Genesis 1-10 were merely distant stories. Abram and Lot depart. Lot goes to Sodom who gets captured by foreign Kings. Abram saves his nephew.

III. The Covenant with Abram

Genesis 15:1-21, God needed a way to break the union between Satan and mankind. Man was the key figure in the Fall, therefore man had to be the key figure in the redemption. So, God approached Abram and made a covenant. A covenant is cut based on strengths not weaknesses. (2 Part Covenant) Abram believed Him. If you don’t know about covenant, or believe it you have no ground to stand on. It is all about faith.
Genesis 15:6, “Abram believed Him.” Is very key!!! Everything in the Kingdom works by faith. Without faith you cannot obtain any of the promises of God…salvation, healing, deliverance, peace, etc.
Genesis 15:8, not doubt, just questioning God what the steps were going to be. Nothing shuts down God from being able to move in your life more than doubt and unbelief. How often do we pray a prayer of faith and then cancel it with words of doubt spoken right after the prayer?
Genesis 15:9-10, Abram cut the animals in half, vertical following the spine, because the animal would bleed better. Abram would have been standing ankle deep of the warm blood. The smell of the life pulsating out of the flesh pooling around his feet was impactful and never forgotten. (Stories of shed blood w/scars?)
Genesis 15:11, Birds of prey represent the devil swooping in on the benefits of the covenant. Some of us are allowing the buzzard of unbelief swooping in on your house, buzzard of unforgiveness, buzzard of disease, buzzard of rejection, (draw a tree with the root of unbelief and the fruit of various sin) (Brigdets teaching – voice of skepticism-took away more nuggets of truth – don’t shut somebody down because....)
Genesis 15:12-16 Abram fell in a trance, vision. God prophesies to him about the Israelites captivity in Egypt and being led out by Moses.
Genesis 15:17, the Lord (Jesus) passed through (walked) through the blood. Smoking oven (meaning representing the Father incubator (womb) of all life, flaming torch. (meaning Jesus the light of the world)
Genesis 15:18, the Lord made (cut) a covenant.
Psalm 80:28 “My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.” . Man’s covenant for 8 generations, but God’s covenant is to a thousand generations!
Psalm 89:34 “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.”

IX. The Distraction from the Covenant

Genesis 16 Hagar and Ishmael
God blessed Ishmael because of His covenant with Abram. God can not go back on His Word. He even has to bless bad seed.
Muslim nation came from Ishmael
His Word is above His Name. He swears by Himself.
Gen. 22:16 This agreement was absolute. Sealed on both sides. He swore by Himself. He couldn’t go any higher or He would have to destroy Himself.
Covenant remembrance, you can never forget

X. Manifestation of the Covenant – It was not fulfilled until Jesus rose. Gen. 17:1

Genesis 17:1-5 I will make thee great - Make thy name great ---- Thou shalt be a blessing ---- I will bless them that bless thee ---- I will bless thee ----- I will curse them that curse thee ---In thee shall the nations of the world be blessed.
Verse 5 God changed Abrams name. Added one letter “h” in Hebrew it means ruah which means spirit. Sound it makes is “haaa”. Sarai – took “I” out and put the “h” in, pit the spirit in.
Gen. 17: 10-14 Covenant means “to cut where blood flows”, it is a contract and agreement. It was sealed in man’s flesh by circumcision.
Gen: 18:17-33 God had a covenant with man and even changed his name to Abraham. God consulted with His covenant man about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The covenant was powerful.
God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Israel.

VI Covenant Practices (two volunteers – bread/goblet/coat/sword/chef’s hat/knife)

Abram understood blood covenant, it would have been practiced through out pagan cultures.
Marriage is a covenant. Ephesians 5 explains how marriage is a revelation of covenant between Christ and His church (Why else would the devil try so hard to break them up?)
Marriages don’t work based on paper/commitment. They are cut in blood.
Wedding ring comes from the cut made around the thumb where it would fester, be a raised scar and cause one to remember.
Covenant is cut based on strengths, not weaknesses.
It demands unwavering loyalty.
In the old days, covenant was not based on what we have in common.
Need covenant based on weakness/strengths, let’s pool our strengths together and yield our weaknesses.
In order to work without prejudice there has to be something deeper; covenant.
“Blood is thicker than water.” Covenant talk, Middle East they say “Blood is thicker than milk.”
Remember is a covenant word.
No way out, but death. If you broke your end of covenant, you were saying that no less than death would come upon you.
If you break your end of covenant doesn’t mean I do to. If you break it you will receive a curse of death.
Whether I like you or not doesn’t affect whether I keep my covenant, whether I enjoy you or you break my heart in two, when the dirt settles I will never forsake you nor leave you.

VII. Ancient Civilizations Covenant Ceremony – Notice the symbolism with Christ and Marriage

Choose a rep. from each family that represents qualities of the tribe. The family sees themself in Him.
Choose a sight for the covenant to take place, usually in a valley, so all could see.
Choose 7 stones and place them near the covenant spot. These are called the witnesses.
Choose animal and split it down the back. It falls open with a half on each side called walls of the covenant. Between them is the alleyway of blood.
Two rep. meet ankle-deep in the blood and speak or make known the terms of the agreement.
Exchange each other’s coats, a sign of authority. It stands for who I am and what I am, or what I do with my authority. And say, “All that I am I give to you and all authority I have I give to you.”
Pass each other, walk opposite of each other and circle around and meet again in the middle of the blood. “We are going to walk together, even if life takes us separate places, we will always be brought back together.”
Takes off His loin belt (weapons) and exchange them. All the power I have I give to you. Your enemies ore my enemies.
Pass each other, walk away and turn around and meet again in the middle of the blood.
Say, “I stand with you, just as I am standing in the blood.” Recite the terms; blessings, swear by God.
Wrist or hand is cut. An area that would fester and scar to cause one to “remember”. That is a covenant word. The life blood of the family is now being shed. Lev17 “the life is in the blood”, This is where we get wedding ring from. Blood shed in cup, stir it around (intermingled blood meant intermingling spiritual natures.- united spiritually – committed to one another – until death do you part) Pour it on the 7 stones as witnesses for all to see. Often would drink it.
Name change – either connected names (Williams-Burgs) or new name. Each person in family would be called that. Our new name is Christian “Little Anointed one of Jesus the Anointed One” Then became friends (another covenant term), love neighbor as self, a relationship has been born. I remember you are in the forefront of my mind, and eternal loving-kindness, tenderness, mercy forever.
Covenant Meal – feed his new covenant brother (friend) bread and say, “My body and life are yours, eat my flesh.” Offer wine to his new covenant brother (friend) and say, “This is the blood of my life, my life blood is yours.” In East, they would light a torch or in celebration of a marriage to symbolize the fire of destruction if the agreement should be broken.

VIII. Hesed

Now, they are bound to show Hesed to one another. Translates to loving-kindness, tenderness, mercy, rememberance, loyalty, service. “I serve you all the days of my life, not because of what you do for me, but because, I am in blood covenant. I do it with authority of God.” God says, “The devil can do what he wants, but because I am in covenant, I’ll see that he doesn’t to you. I am planning and plotting ways to keep you. I am bound to show you Hesed agape.”

PRAY Ephesians 1

WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BLOOD COVENANT?

I. COVENANT

A. You are about to uncover one of the most valuable discoveries in God’s Word---the reality of your Covenant with God through the blood of Jesus.
§ This revelation will touch every aspect of your life.
§ It will help you receive your healing when you are sick.
§ It will give you confidence that God will meet your financial needs.
§ It will strengthen your marriage and family relationships.
§ And it will bring peace to your mind and joy to your soul! Hallelujah!

B. The Word of God holds no power in this world for the believer who has no understanding concerning the blood. Ephesians 2:11-13.
§ The Bible is a book about blood: it speaks about blood from Genesis to Revelation.
§ In Genesis 3:21, we witness the first shedding of blood as God covers the sins of Adam and Eve with skins of animals.
§ In Revelation 19:13, we see Jesus dressed in a royal robe dyed by dipping in blood

C. Covenant made by blood is present in all ancient civilizations, Christian and Pagan alike.
§ In our modern Western civilization, we don’t understand the blood covenant. We have steered so far from it, that there is no heart reality.
§ Without a revelation of it, it is nearly impossible to grasp the strength and integrity of God’s promises. Because of His covenant with us, God will keep His Word regardless of what it may cost Him.
§ In our Western culture, we have become too “civilized” to understand the depth of this commitment. Unfortunately, the more civilized a man becomes, the further he drifts from his commitment to keep his word. The more unreliable he becomes. Today it’s not uncommon for a person to lie, backstab, and cheat. To not keep his word. We flippantly say we will do something and don’t follow through.
§ Blood covenant has been exchanged for ink and paper (contracts and commitments), “Meant to be broken”.
§ This is likened to our modern day contract which we often think about being released from it. (ex. marriage –don’t work, based on paper) A true covenant relationship is not easy to break. Some man-made covenants were made to last up-to eight generations. God’s covenant is to a thousand generations!
§ Rediscovering the meaning of covenant will turn the tide of man’s lack of integrity to keep his word.

D. In Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate, “covenant” is defined as
§ a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement: COMPACT, a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action.”
§ Hebrew Word : “bereeth” – To cut where blood flows. A sense of cutting made by passing between two pieces of flesh.

E. Merely having a definition of covenant will only tell what it is.
§ We need a revelation from the Almighty God, because a revelation of your covenant with God will cause you to stand against the devil when he comes to destroy you.
§ A definition can’t hold you up against the storms of life.
§ But a revelation of the strength of covenant relationship will cause you to stand up straight, with your shoulders back, your head held high, boldness in your eyes, and compassion in your heart.

WHY DID GOD NEED TO CUT COVENANT WITH MAN?

II. Man’s Dominion Before the Fall
Gen: 1:26-27, Gen. 2:17
§ Intimate relationship with the Father. They walked and talked together in the garden.
§ Gen 2:7 Adam formed of dust. First man Adam was made a living soul. Mind, will emotions, personality, just the biological life. But when God breathed into him he had divine, eternal life. Breath of life is the Holy Spirit. His blood was untainted. He went from dust to eternal life. Christ was the last Adam a life-giving spirit. 1 Cor 15:45-49
§ The most intimate connection between dust (this world) and blood is Breath.
§ Man took on the nature of his spiritual Father.
§ Man was created to have dominion and authority of lordship over God’s creation on earth. (Be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, have dominion, guard garden, rule God’s works
§ The Law of Genesis. He was given the right to father God’s family. Sire the human race.
§ Rev 1:5,6 Kings and Priests, Rev 12:11 Overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony

III Satan’s Dominion Before the Fall
Genesis 3 Satan came on the scene.
§ Ezekial 28, Isaiah 14:12-14, created angel, anointed cherub, Lucifer, set here by God to protect it, overshadow it, and rule it, God set him on the mountain of God, the place where Lucifer had his kingdom on earth was set up before the fall of man, beautiful workmanship, covered in various precious stones, and tabrets and windpipes, iniquity and pride found in his heart because of his wisdom and beauty and splendor of his kingdom and his authority, wanted to exalt himself above God and the heavens, wanted to sit above the congregation mount where those of heaven met to worship, influenced 1/3 of angels in heaven to rebel with him. There was a heavenly war and Lucifer was overthrown and cast down to the earth, his authority was taken away.

IV. Man Sinned
§ Genesis 3 – Man sinned. But when he bowed his knee he changed spiritual fathers. Satan became his illegitimate stepfather. He committed high treason, so all dominion and authority was handed over to Satan. Suddenly, God was on the outside looking in.
§ Adam was the first person to be born a spiritual death in reverse.
§ When death came in, life went out.
§ When the divine life went out because of sin, then death crept in. All that was left was biological life. Now all humanity would be subject to sin and death and helpless against disease and physical death.
§ Blood was polluted. The problem with mankind is “Bad Blood”.
§ Leviticus 17:11 – Life is in the blood.

V. Satan’s Dominion After the Fall
§ 2 Cor: 4:4, Satans authority had been taken away, due to his rebellion.
§ He manipulated man and become the god of this world.
§ Luke 4:3-7 Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness with the power of the world. If it wasn’t his to give why would it be a temptation to Jesus?
§ John 8:44, John 3:16, Our father is the devil until we exchange our sonship through Jesus.
§ 1 Cor. 2:8 The princes of this world never knew the plan of redemption. If they had they would have prevented Jesus death. The Father and Jesus set the devil up and he fell for it.

VI. Man’s Redemption Through Blood Covenant – Abram
§ God’s creation had turned upside down as a result of sin.
§ God called Abram in Genesis 12:1 and gave him a glimpse into covenant, He made a promise to Him.
§ Genesis 13 & 14, Abraham is getting to know God. For so long, He had been forgotten. Genesis 1-10 were merely distant stories. Abram and Lot depart. Lot goes to Sodom who gets captured by foreign Kings. Abram saves his nephew.
§ Genesis 15:1-21, God needed a way to break the union between Satan and mankind. Man was the key figure in the Fall, therefore man had to be the key figure in the redemption. So, God approached Abram and made a covenant. A covenant is cut based on strengths not weaknesses. (2 Part Covenant) Abram believed Him. If you don’t know about covenant, or believe it you have no ground to stand on. It is all about faith.

Empower vs. Motivate

Mission: This ministry will teach, by Word and example, how to appropriate the Living Word of God, by faith, in every day living. It will encourage and stir others to action toward abundant living, which is living Jesus’ life thru us, unhindered. It will urge others to advance forward in steadfast victory, passionately pursuing God, and leaving the past behind.

III. Our Part

1. To seek out the knowledge of the Word. – Hosea 4:6 (damah-cut off), Matt 6:33

How do we gain knowledge? The five fold-ministry – Eph 4:11, 12

Knowledge to Revelation - John 8:31,32, John 16:13,14

As being a business owner, one of the most embarrassing and difficult situations is to have gone through life only to find out that you have lost large sums of money for no reason or to learn of assets that you could have been enjoying for years, but weren’t simply because you didn’t know of the fullness of the contract that you had entered into.

I read a story of a woman who had served for over 40 years in the courts under Queen Victoria of Great Britain. She was greatly loved and respected by the Queen for her service and character. At the servant’s retirement, she was honored with a certificate of service from the Royal Majesty. As the years passed, not only did the woman physically age, but became greatly impoverished living in dreadful conditions and became ill. One day, the Queen’s Royal Ambassador had gone to visit the aged woman. He was in utter amazement of the conditions the woman was living in. As he was visiting with the woman, he noticed her certificate of honor hanging on the wall. He walked up to it and read it. Upon reading it, he was shocked and asked the woman why she was living like this when the certificate of service stated that as long as she lived she would be provided for by the British Royal Courts. She responded with utter amazement and humble embarrassment, “But, Sir, alas, I cannot read.”

Because the woman was ignorant of the fullness of her contract she lived most of her life in poverty.

2. Mix what we hear with faith and Choose to Believe – Hebrew 3 and 4

3. Ask for Revelation as we Meditate on His Word – Joshua 1:8, Eph 1:17-23

4. Put a Voice to His Word – Declare it! Josh 1:8, Prov 18:21, Romans 10:17

5. Be an Imitator of God – Was Jesus always real? No fronts, no masks. Eph 5:1, 5:19

Walk in love, encourage one another, pray for another, establish relationships

Does this look overwhelming? Its not, it is a lifestyle. Take a step at time. Like anything it takes time to establish habits.

If you didn’t get your encounter done or have your verse memorized to the “T” don’t let that keep you from coming. That is the devil trying to keep you from receiving and going higher in God.

Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

The dare today required that I do something that said “I was thinking of you today.”

My Notes:

I asked myself these questions:

· Do I truly want what’s best for my wife?
· Do I want them to feel loved by me?
· Do they believe I have their best interests in mind?
· Do they see me as looking out for myself first?

I looked at God’s example. He did what was best for me. When He was one the cross, He had me on his mind. He had my best interest in mind. The Bible says in Eph 5:1 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;” The word follow in the Greek means to imitate God. I am to imitate God. He showed His love to me, therefore, I can imitate Him and show His love to my spouse. I have my wife’s best interest in mind. I would her to succeed.

What did I do for the dare today? I went out and got Kathy a book. She loves to read. I gave it to her and told her I loved her. I was thinking of her today.

Php 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Day 2 – Love is Kind

Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

My Notes:

The dare today is to do an unexpected gesture or act of kindness for my wife.

“Patience avoids a problem; kindness creates a blessing.”
One is preventative, the other proactive.”

I have never seen anyone as kind as my wife. Her kindness is genuine and attracts my attention. Her kindness has truly been a blessing to our marriage and home. This is one of the things that I believe is what causes our marriage to be so good.

What act of kindness did I show today? I asked the Lord and he told me this….Prov. 31:28 “Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” I sat Kathy down and told her what a wonderful wife she was how much I appreciated her for ALL the things she does. I praised her and told her how much I loved her. It’s not often I praise her. I will praise her more often to show kindness.

Love Dare Love is Patient

Day 1 – Love is patient

Eph. 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

My Notes:

Saying nothing negative to my spouse is the first dare. Patience has to rule.

“Love empowers.” What a powerful statement! The Bible says in Romans 5:8 “But
God commendth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us.” It was God’s love for me that made me what I am today. His love has
empowered me to succeed. When I love my wife, that same love can cause her to
succeed.

“Love is built on two pillars” Patience and Kindness. “Patience brings an internal calm during an external storm.” No one likes to be around an impatient person. There have been times that I have been impatient with my spouse. “When you choose to be patient, you respond in a positive way to a negative situation.” How true, patience can help you from making rash decisions or saying something you regret later. A lack of patience can turn a situation into a heated argument. I like what the Bible says in Proverbs 15:18 “A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.”

My home can be a hotbed of controversy or it can heaven on earth. I will follow what God’s Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:15, “See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

I did not have anything that was negative today about my spouse. I prayed this prayer. Lord let me always remember that you never had any disparaging words for me when I make mistakes. Your always patient with me.

The Love Dare A Journey
Pastor Mitch Mosier is sharing his journey with us.

I took the “Love Dare” not because I have a bad marriage or an average marriage. The truth is I have a marriage made in heaven.
My wife and I have been married for 22 years.
So what prompted me to do this? It was the result of a simple prayer, I prayed one day.
I prayed “Lord let your power flow through me in a more significant way.”
I listened for the Lord to tell me the answer to what I’ve been praying for and the response I heard was out of Gen 1:26
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…. I thought on that for a few days and the Holy Spirit prompted me to remember that “after our likeness” meant to function like God. I asked the Lord to show me how to function like Him. He reminded me that His Word tells us in 1 John 4:8 that God is Love. I understood that in order to function like Him, I must walk in love.

The answer to this prayer resulted in taking the “Love Dare”. I made the “Love Dare” my forty day journey. I am submitting to the Lord so he can teach me as I read through this “dare”. I put the statements from the book in quotations that especially spoke to me.
1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

The Ladies Bible Study will start back up on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 7-9pm and meet every other Thursday.

We will meet at my church located on the southeast side. One thing I love about this group is how it represents women from various denominations, ages, seasons of life, and years in the Lord. We are united in purpose to bring Glory to God through spiritual maturity by the revelation of the Word, through loving, supporting and encouraging one another, through learning how to overcome and walk in victory which impacts our families, churches, and communities.

The Lord has led my husband, Mark, to lead a Men’s Study on the off Thursdays, beginning Sept. 10th, 7-9pm.

For this year, Isaiah 43...18 and 19 are foundational. “Do not earnestly remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (AMP)

Hallelujah! Are you ready for a change in your life? Feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, disappointed or hurt? Do you just need refreshed? (My hand is up.) Good news: He promises to do a new thing in your life! If your stuck, He will ‘unstick’ you! A well of refreshing living water is springing forth within you and bringing life to you, your circumstances and those around you! He has made a way for you in the wilderness and made your desert lush and teeming with new life. The rivers will not overwhelm you and you will not be burnt by the fire! God has good planned for you this year! Expect it…why? Because He is your Heavenly Father Who keeps His promises and loves you big time!

Please pray if you are to join us. We would love to have you. You may have that very Word someone else needs to propel them forward. Maybe that someone is me.

We will kick off this year with a Family pitch-in picnic at our new home in Zionsville on Sat, Aug. 22 at 4pm. Dinner is at 5:30 pm. Meat with fix’ins and drinks will be provided. Please let us know if you can join us. Bring a side to share, as well as, your camping chairs. We will have games set up for adults and kids. What a great way to meet each others’ families! Secrets to Success
Part 1

The disciples asked Jesus a question in John 6:28 “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” Jesus answer was very simple and straight to the point. In John 6:29 He said, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He hath sent.”

What did Jesus mean by that? He simply was saying “If you want to do the works of my Father you must believe on me.” What does believing on Jesus involve? It involves believing in God’s Word. John 1:1 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:14 says “And the Word was made flesh….” Jesus is the Word! If I believe on Jesus, I believe the Word of God!

What did Jesus tell the disciples to do? BELIEVE! He was telling them that their belief system was important. What do you believe in? Are you always looking for disaster or do you go back to God’s Word and agree with Mark 9:23 Where Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Let’s take a look at the “Works of God”. What are the works of God? Jesus said in John 8:29 “I do always those things that please Him.” Whatever Jesus did was the result of what His Father wanted him to do. What did Jesus do? Acts 10:38 describes Jesus ministry. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” His ministry was a reflection of the “Works of God.”

What you believe in is important! The Bible tells us how to change our belief system in Romans 12:1-2.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Start today by being a doer of God’s Word. Give God’s Word priority and final authority in your life. Say “I believe God’s Word. God’s Word is true.”

Sophia Joy’s Testimony

Hallelujah! God does not change. His Word is everlasting. It is the same today as it was yesterday. God is Jehovah Rophi, the One and Only Healer of every part of mankind; spirit, soul and body. Our family has truly experienced the healing power of God..

In July 2006, my wife and I were pregnant with our third child, a little girl. We enjoyed a healthy pregnancy until the beginning of the seventh month. My wife began to suffer with pregnancy induced carpel tunnel, gained nearly 30 lbs in two weeks with increased blood pressure. The doctors closely monitored her for pre-clampsia. One night as Cassy wrestled with sleeping, she watched Oral Roberts Ministry on television. She was introduced to the miracle-working power of the Apostle Paul through the means of prayer cloths and knew she needed to connect with the healing power of God through a prayer cloth. (Acts 19). Cassy was never able to request a prayer cloth due to premature labor.

During the delivery, my wife’s placenta separated from the uterus and our baby’s oxygen supply was cut-off for thirty minutes. Sophia Joy was pronounced dead on arrival. The neo-care staff responded immediately. During resuscitation, Sophia’s lung was perforated. She was rushed to the neo-care unit to receive emergency care. Over a period of hours we were allowed to see her. Her prognosis was not good. As we stood over our little four and half pound baby resting in the middle of monitors, wires, and tubes, the faith of Jesus rose up in us. We were not allowed to touch her, but spoke the living and healing Word of God in her little lifeless body. We began to take back that which the enemy was seeking to destroy.

The next day the neonatologist reported our baby would live but be faced with several major health problems. The Spirit wielded the Word of God deep within Cassy’s spirit, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you in judgment shall be in the wrong.” Isaiah 54:17. My wife said under her breath, “I don’t receive this in the Name of Jesus.” At that moment, the Lord showed us that Sophia’s healing began.

This same day, Cassy’s sister came to visit at the hospital and brought an anointed prayer cloth. The Lord had met her desire for a prayer cloth. By faith, we believed this cloth was a contact point with the power of God. Our faith connected with His power and the supernatural happened. My wife placed the cloth in the pocket of her gown and carried it to Sophia each time she visited. We continued to speak the Word and offer thanksgiving and praise for the manifestation of healing, although we had not yet seen it with our eyes.

After three days, Sophia’s perforated lung healed, she began to eat on her own, and her stats began to improve greatly. Each day another tube, wire or monitor was removed. She began to gain weight and was very alert. The neonatal gist and staff were amazed at her recovery. They called her “Super Baby”, “Miracle Baby” and “Ridiculous”. Her initial diagnosed four week stay was an actual one week stay.

Sophia Joy is now almost 2 ½ years old. There is “nothing missing, nor broken.” She does not have any major health concerns. She has been evaluated and has actually excelled in areas of development. She is full of life and is truly a “joy”. The hospital officials attribute her miraculous healing to God. God is worthy of all our praise! He is no respecter of persons. What He did for us He will do for anyone. He will do it for you! (Acts 10:34) All He asks of you is to believe Him, trust Him and expect from Him. He longs to lavish His goodness and mercy on you. He has already given you everything…He gave you his Son, Jesus.

Unforgiveness or Forgiveness?

Unforgiveness or Forgiveness?
It is our choice, you know.
We hold this power within our hands
to keep or to let go.

Seems so hard, but is it really?
Yes, impossible in our flesh.
But isn’t the Grace of God sufficient
even to meet this test?

It’s not hard; just make the choice.
Receive God’s Grace – Forgive.
After all, we’ve been forgiven
time and time again.

None of us is perfect.
We all fall short and sin.
But God in his great mercy
has taught us to forgive.

It keeps the doors open
and the pathways clear
for the Love of God to reach
around this earthly sphere.

So come, let’s make the choice today
to forgive and set each other free,
to walk in peace and love and joy,
to walk in harmony.
